Nevis Range Ski Centre

According to the England’s Telegraph newspaper, the Scotland resorts are expecting a busy weekend after 2 feet fell on the highlands during the feak cold snap that England has experienced this week.

Glencoe was reporting all runs complete with excellent cover across the mountain, while the official report at Nevis Range yesterday said the conditions were “near Alpine”.

There are “nearly perfect” conditions on some runs at Glenshee, while all runs at the Lecht are operating.

Cairngorm was reporting lower slopes in “fantastic” condition, although the weather was also an indication of the routine challenges faced by Scottish skiers. There were “whiteout” conditions on the higher slopes and a the wind chill factor at the top station was -6C.

But according to the Mountain Weather Information Service, there should be clear conditions, with some snow showers, over the weekend.

I’m sure that after a few lean winter seasons the Scottish resorts are more than welcoming of the extra tourism, if only briefly.

It looks fantastic.
