Lodge Facilities
What facitilies can I expect to see at Nutcracker Ski Lodge?
Nutcracker Ski Club is located less than 1km from the centre of the resort village on Goalpost Road. The lodge is situated in quiet, tree lined surrounds, is a short walk from Duck Inn ski hire and100 meters from one of the free shuttle service bus stops.
Nutcracker Ski Club is a “self-catering” styled lodge with a BYO Licence. The Lodge has a resident manager during the ski season and members take on responsibilities when a manager is absent.
The main lodge area consists of a large, fully equipped kitchen, ample dining and two lounge areas. The kitchen is equipped with a separate food and drinks fridge, separate freezer space and plenty of room for pantry and food storage. Space in the kitchen is allocated for each room. A dishwasher is supplied for easy crockery and cutlery cleaning. Staples supplied include, instant coffee, tea, sugar, cooking oil, salt, pepper and other miscellaneous pantry items.
The dining area has three separate tables, and bench style seating, with a view of the outside through the lodges wall to ceiling glass front facade ( not shown)
The first lounge area has TV with a DVD and stereo. In the second lounge there are plenty of card decks and a board game as well as magazines and books to cater for all tastes.
The lodge is very cozy and warm with gas heating. There is plenty of room to store skis and snowboards plus a large drying room for boots and ski clothes.
There are four rooms each consisting of four bunks (one of the bunks is occupied by the lodge manager). Beds are fitted with electric blankets, quilt and pillow. All Bed linen and towels must be supplied by the guest. However, an emergency set of linen is available to use should the need arise.
Departure time is 3:00pm. It is possible to store luggage (at owners own risk) if guests are planning to leave the mountain at a later time.
Nutcracker does not hire cleaning staff so guests are expected to maintain their own sleeping area. When departing, the room must be vacuumed, bins emptied, and power points turned off. It is also expected that all food will be removed for the next guests. We do have a communal “food bin” should you have anything dry or non-perishable that you would like to leave for other guest/members/lodge manager. You will be appreciated for the food donation. It will get put to good use!
Small tasks such as cleaning up after food making, emptying the dishwasher and general tidiness etc is the be done by all guests and members.
Nutcracker is a smoke free zone at all times.
