Tennis World No. 3, and Australian Open Men’s Champion, Novak Djokovic stopped by at Ski Dubai to catch a few runs as a lead up to the 2008 Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships over the weekend.
With five runs that vary in difficulty, height and steepness, Djokovic was able to test his skills at the indoor resort.
“I took up skiing before I learnt to play tennis at the age of four,” explained Djokovic. “Skiing is a great sport, it’s a lot of fun and it’s my biggest passion.
“It is something I have done all my life, but of course it isn’t recommended for tennis players to ski because of the possibility of injury. I have never been scared on the slopes and have always been careful.”

The Mammoth Mountain Bikini Run is a critical mass of college students, wearing next to nothing, taking a run from the 11,053 foot summit to the Main Lodge. Weaving between traditionally clad guests, bikini runners come to Mammoth for a good time and to take advantage of the mountain’s seemingly endless snowpack year after year.
The Bikini Run serves as a reminder that Mammoth is starting to ramp up for the spring ski season. Mammoth Mountain plans to remain open through to May 26, weather permitting.

I spotted this video and was absolutely gobsmacked by the footage.
I had no idea that trains could be used for ploughing snow.
There is very little information on the internet about why, where and how they are used, apart from the obvious reason to plough snow.
We don’t have this in Australia as our train system goes nowhere near our Alpine region, so if anyone can shed some light on this for me, leave a comment, I’d love to know more.
