Buller blue day,

Hi Everyone!
Well the working parties are underway with the first one being the 18/19 November 2006. The weather was fantastic and it was a great opportunity to give a bit of long deserved TLC to the ‘Grand Old Girl’. Members on board this weekend were Lee, Graham, Gabby, Warrick, Geoff, Amelia & Mark. We got to work before midday on Saturday and we went to work with the chainsaws on a few stray branches, sanding the window sills and giving the Kitchen a good clean. Apologies for no pictures of Gabby getting the kitchen into shape! Before too long it was Nutcracker “Happy Hour”.
We set up bar out on the balcony with the genius idea of using the scafolding to rest the snacks, prompting one member to suggest that making the balcony of Nutcracker resemble a public bar after 5pm would be a great idea. Maybe it’ll get brought up at the AGM!
The wine and beer flowed and conversation followed but being Mt Buller we had to adjourn to the great indoors to escape the cold! Everyone settled in for the evening around the table and it must have been somewhere around midnight that the weary workers retired for the night.
Everyone was up at around 8am ready to start the next round of work. After a leisurely breakfast and a couple of members doing a lap around the villiage (bumping into Carol along the way), we got stuck into the painting. Lee travelled skywards to sweep the roof and Gabby continued on the inside with the bathrooms. By midday we were done and it was time for lunch.
It was a very productive weekend and it was great to catch up with each other and a few ideas were discussed moving towards the AGM. We were very lucky to have such great weather. There were remnants of snow from the freak snow falls during the week, but you appreciate just how beautiful Buller is in the summertime.
Look forward to seeing you all next weekend.
