Forest Fire Threatening Blackcomb and Whistler

Blackcomb/Whistler Fire

Parts of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are being evacuated after a forest fire broke out Thursday afternoon near the 2010 Winter Olympics skiing site.

The fire does not appear to be threatening any lifts or ski runs and the resorts have not been evacuated.

With the Mt Buller fire only a few years ago where the resort village was threatened, we certainly hope that the fire crews are able to contain the blaze soon.
